My name is Jeremy Claypoole. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science as well as my CrossFit level 1 certification. I am also a certified spin instructor and Silver and Fit certified. As a former collegiate athlete my main focus is strength and conditioning and sports performance training. With nearly 5 years of experience though I have dealt with all kinds of clients. Young, old, injured, healthy, underweight, overweight, and even amputees.

I have had my Silver and Fit certification the longest and for most of my training career. I teach a class of the fittest seniors this side of the Mississippi. Some of them are 75+ years old and can do full burpees and even power clean a barbell. I program the class to not only challenge them but keep them moving pain free for the rest of their lives.

I have trained all ages of athletes for all different sports. From MMA fighters to rugby players, I’ve seen them all. Different sports require different modes of training. For example, I have to coach an MMA fighter through a workout where they have to maintain a pace for 3-5 minutes so they make it through a round without being so tired they can’t continue on. Compared to a rugby player that has to push other big bodies around, so we focus more on strength training.

As a personal trainer I practice what I preach. I wouldn’t listen to a fat doctor telling me to lose weight. Would you? I try every workout before I put my clients or class through it so I know how to program it. For some people it may need mortification; for others it may be just right.

My name is Scott Farabaugh and I am one of the Personal Trainers and Coach at the Gorilla House Gym!

I spent 20+ years between the Marines and the Army where I was trained in tactical deployment of combat operations, warfighting, and physical readiness. I also have spent 21 years working as a Corrections Officer for the state of Pennsylvania. I have learned the importance of being mentally and physically prepared for every situation. I have had to rely on my physical training many times and have valued the experience. I have trained in boxing and mixed martial arts, I have competed in crossfit competitions, 5k and 10k races, obstacle course races and participated in 2 triathlons. I have coached cross country at a high school level, and was a Master Physical Trainer In the Military.

I became a Certified Personal Trainer through the ISSA to help enhance people’s well-being, improve physical preparedness, prepare athletes for competition, and to provide a healthier lifestyle for the general population. During my time as a trainer, I have enhanced my skill set through experiences and continued education. Currently I am studying to be a Performance enhancement coach, and a sports Nutritionalist.

I have trained numerous athletes, law enforcement, military personal, and firefighters along with weight control clients, senior population, and youth.

My philosophy on training is that every human being should train to be an athlete. After all, life is a dynamic. We need to run, jump, crawl, lift, carry, push, pull, squat, rapidly change directions, and survive tough times. However each person brings a uniqueness to training and I train everyone according to their abilities, goals, and mental capacity. There are no one size fits all approach.

My name is Tim Settle. I’m a certified personal trainer and certified nutrition coach through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I have 10+ years experience leading group fitness classes for all ages, all fitness levels and all shapes and sizes.

As someone who was in search of a better life through fitness and nutrition, from the beginning, I have laid a solid foundation of knowledge to help anyone achieve their fitness and nutrition goals.

I’m very passionate about what I do! My work ethic is strong and I’m here to help others! I like to connect with people, ease their thoughts and fears! And, make them feel at home in the gym.

As a “motivated go getter”, I’ve been a jack of all trades my entire life. I’m successfully self employed because I work hard! I’ve gained skills through the medical field of nursing, business management, telecommunications and customer service that serve my clients well!

I moved to Blair county 20 years ago to start my own life as a new adult, I was 21 and didn’t know anyone. It’s been a wonderful journey meeting new people and growing in this wonderful community. I really enjoy my place in this world!

My focus as a fitness and nutrition professional is to educate and help others achieve the results they’re looking for through proper movement patterns and healthy eating habits. I have a lot to offer my clients with a duel focus of fitness and nutrition. I’m always here to help!

Hello, my name is Shawn. Certified personal trainer through National Academy of Sports Medicine with and emphasis on Youth Exercise. I am a Marine Corps veteran with three tours overseas to Iraq and Afghanistan. I also work with children with intellectual disabilities and on the Autism spectrum. I a Barbell Club coach, SWEAT instructor, and the biggest kid leading the pack in Kid Kong. I work with all ages, body types, and goal sets to help people achieve a healthier lifestyle and crush goals. I have almost two years of working with individuals achieve these goals.

I have a soft spot for kids and strive to set them up for success as they grow and mature to learn how to move their bodies and do it without hurting themselves. “It takes a village” is a saying I take literal. So parents a free to come and watch their kids workout or crush a quick workout of their own as well.

You can find me in class, on the floor, or at the desk most days. I put in the work before I push it out to my clients. I strive for great technique and consistency in all I do. The gym is no different.

My name is Jordan Terry. I grew up in Cincinnati OH, but have called central Pennsylvania my home since 2017. I have personal training certifications through NASM and ISSA as well as certifications for swim instruction and conditioning through the CSC.

What I bring to the table is energy, accountability, and the knowledge & know-how to help men and women alike push past plateaus. I specialize in helping gym goers develop muscle mass, shed fat, and create healthy habits that will allow them to live a much more vital and balanced life. I work with folks that are completely new to the gym, those that are experienced but looking for the next level, athletes, bodybuilders, clients looking to better their form, clients with special needs, clients that are injured or rehabbing, and clients that are elderly. The gym is for everyone! and I have made it my mission to learn how to get more people engaged in fitness.

I have competed in sports at the club, high school, and collegiate level in both Ohio and Pennsylvania. As well, I have coached club sports in Ohio. These experiences have helped me understand that different people have different needs. We can’t all do the same thing and expect the same results. For me, getting to understand my clients and recognize their specific personal needs allows me to program better workouts suited to them. I believe that a trainer who is committed to learning their clients and giving them a unique fitness experience will be successful in helping individuals more effectively and efficiently reach their goals.

Kids Adaptive Combatives and Jujitsu

My name is CJ Lewis and I am the kids martial arts instructor.  I have a background in martial arts and self defense, and have been training for over 12 years.
 
Our youth program will instill tremendous confidence and give kids the tools to reach their full potential and lead successful, happy lives. Focus, discipline, tenacity, and the ability to protect themselves will help kids achieve their goals at school and beyond.
 
Students will learn striking, kicking, grappling, with a strong focus on self defense and anti-bullying.
 
Our goal is to help to make students physically and mentally strong by developing confidence in a system they can use to defend themselves. Students will be trained in the concepts of Adaptive Combatives and guided with our code of honor. Any skill level is acceptable, from first timers to anyone who just wants to practice another martial art. 
 
Your child will learn real-world techniques that will help them to defend themselves in difficult situations. Our focus is to teach students who are smaller and weaker to defend themselves against a larger, stronger assailant. While we teach students that the first choice is to avoid conflict all together, we will prepare them with the skills required to protect themselves in situations that cannot be avoided. Your child’s confidence will increase knowing they can defend themselves.

My name is Matt, and I am the head tennis pro at Gorilla House Gym.  Tennis has been a huge part of my life, and I’ve had the pleasure of teaching it for over fifteen years.

As a junior player, I was ranked in the top 10 of USTA Middle States.  I played four years of Division II college tennis for the nationally ranked Assumption Greyhounds.  I graduated with a BA in mathematics and a minor in physics.  During my time at Assumption, I contributed to the tennis teams 117 match in conference winning streak.  I finished my college career with a 61-3 singles record, which was the highest winning percentage in the team’s history.  I was the northeast 10 male scholar athlete of the year as well as a CoSIDA/ESPN academic all-America in 2007. 

I love tennis and can’t imagine my life without it.  Tennis is different from a lot of other sports in that it can be played by people of all ages and abilities.  I have coached all levels from nationally ranked juniors to absolute beginners.  I try to provide a customized coaching experience for all of my students and hope they enjoy a lifetime of fun on the court.

My name is Enzo Marin. I have an Associates Degree in Nursing, waiting to take my state boards. Currently, I am a new trainer at the Gorilla House Gym Huntingdon location coaching Low Impact/Strength Training as well as Teen Weight/Strength Training classes. I fell in love with lifting shortly after graduating high school, specifically powerlifting reaching a total weight of 1,175 pounds across bench, deadlift and squat and I’m still hungry for more.

 With 5 years of lifting experience, personal research, and lots of mistakes, my top priority in any training setting, personal or class, is injury prevention and good lifting experiences. Using my nursing background and knowledge of hypertrophy, strength, and low-impact training, I’m equipped to train any age in any condition to help them achieve their gym goals.

I’m excited to bring more classes, as well as help those who don’t have the knowledge to start their lifting journey become confident, healthy, strong individuals. I plan to guide those who come to me for fitness advice and training to achieve their goals they desire as properly and safely as possible. Though I am new to the training, all workouts and exercises my clients perform are done by me first-hand, ensuring you’re not wasting your time with useless movements seen on social media. While training with me, I guarantee you’ll feel great about yourself.

My name is Brooke Dysard and I joined the Gorilla House team of trainers in 2021.  I am an ISSA certified personal trainer and Indoor Cycling Instructor, I have my CrossFit Level 1 Certificate, and I am currently working on additional specializations through ISSA in Nutrition and Lifespan Coaching.  I teach group fitness classes at the Huntingdon location and I am looking forward to adding a few personal training clients to my schedule!  

My current classes include Barbell, Endurance and Stamina Builder, and Teen Weight Training.  In my classes, I teach a wide variety of options including functional body movements, power lifting, olympic lifting, and cardio conditioning.  Everything I teach starts with a solid foundation in proper form and technique to ensure the safety of all of my clients.

I was an athlete from a young age, playing baseball, softball, and excelling in tennis in my late teens but after years of battling mental and physical health issues, I found myself unhappy and unhealthy heading toward my 30s.  I knew I had to take back control of my life and that’s exactly what I did!  I fell in love with fitness and never looked back.  The gym became the place where I found my passion.  For the first time in a long time, I was happy and healthy again.  

I want to help as many people as possible regain control of their health, happiness, and fitness and I’m excited to use my years of knowledge and experience to help them do just that.
