The Haunted House Havoc Competition

Come and celebrate the kickoff of the “Darker Half of the Year” with The Haunted House Havoc Competition.

This will be teams of two, a guy and a gal. Two divisions: Monkey and Gorilla

 

Here are ALL FOUR WORKOUTS FOR 

Haunted House Havoc!

Teams of two. A guy and a gal. Two divisions: Gorilla or Monkey. 4 workouts! One day – a ghoulishly good time on October 12th at 9am. Dress to scare the competition. 

Workout #1 
Gorilla Division
For time – 20 minute time cap
200 meter partner carry
4000 meter row
200 meter partner carry 

Monkey Division
For time – 20 minute time cap
200 meter Farmer’s carry 45# plate each hand
4000 meter row
200 meter Farmer’s carry 45# plate each hand 

Rules:
Gorilla Division – partner carry can be completed however team decides (fireman, piggy back). When/if partners switch carry they will be required to re-start carry where partner dismounted. I.E. partners cannot take a few steps forward and remount. Row can be divided as decided. 

Monkey Division – farmer’s carry – partners walk together. work can be divided as necessary. Exchanges of plates must be two hand off, if this can be done while moving that is allowed. But one plate cannot be passed and then the other. Both partners must be at the tower before row starts. Row must be completed before taking off for farmer’s carry. Partners must be together for entire farmer’s carry. If one partner is on the tower and the other partner takes off for the farmer’s carry, the team will be asked to return to their start position and start the farmer’s carry again TOGETHER. 

 

WORKOUT #2
Gorilla Division and Monkey Division
5 minutes TOTAL (not each)
START FROM THE GROUND
1 rep max unbroken complex
3 push jerks
2 front squats
1 thruster

Rest 5 minutes into workout #3
Rules: bar starts on the ground unloaded. Load bar. 
Push jerk – elbows must be in full extension at the top, bar must start on chest. Feet cannot land in split stance. 
Front squat – hips extended at the top, hip crease at least parallel with knee
Thruster – same rules as push jerk and front squat

 

Workout #3
Gorilla Division
5 min AMRAP
One partner does a full round, then switch 
10 wall balls (14/20#)
10 box jumps (24/20”)
10 alternating one arm dumbbell snatches (25/45#) left, right =1

Monkey Division
5 min AMRAP
One partner does a full round, then switch 
10 wall balls (10/14#)
10 step-ups (20/16”) (left =1, right =2)
10 alternating one arm dumbbell snatches (15/25#) left, right =1

Rules: wall balls touch targets (9/10’) come to a full squat (hip crease at least parallel to knee). 
Box jumps and step ups – both feet on top of the box and full extension of the hips before dismounting 
Alternating one arm dumbbell snatch – at least one side of dumbbell touches ground, hand exchange made below, full extension of hips and elbow.

Gorilla Division 
20 Minute AMRAP
6 deadlifts 185#s
9 barbell burpees
9 pull-ups
50 double unders

Monkey Division 
20 Minute AMRAP
6 deadlifts 135#s
9 barbell burpees
9 ring rows 
100 single jump ropes 

Rules:
Deadlift – starts on the ground, full extension of the hips at the top, both bumper plates touch the ground before ascent, bar can be dropped at the top. 

Barbell burpees – chest touches the ground, feet move over the bar

Pull-ups – strict, Kip or butterfly are allowed – chin must come over the bar, elbow must be extended at the bottom. 

Ring rows – heels will be required to stay over the line. Chest touches rings, full extension of the elbows. 

Double unders – two passes under the feet

Singles – one pass under the feet
